Fylkingen

At Fylkingen, a venue for experimental electronic music in Stockholm, Sweden, iDJa performed in September 2025.

The concert offered a preview of Gaskačázis, a project still in development. It builds on field recordings from both Sápmi and the Himalayas, combined with synthesizers and live sound manipulation.

During the performance, original video footage was shown from Melamchi, Tarkehyang, and Ama Yangri in Nepal, as well as from Saltfjellet, Helgeland, and Sørfold in Northern Norway.

Through sound and visuals, the project explores parallels between the two regions - both deeply affected by climate change and home to Indigenous communities living close to nature.

Gaskačázis is supported by the Sámi Parliament, Nordland County, and Arts Council Norway, and is set to premiere in mid-2026.

The final version will include live visuals by visual artist Eili Bråstad.
