Stories from Sápmie

Stories from Sápmie is a collaborative album by iDJa and Ramona Linnea, created throughout 2023. The project draws on nature in Sápmi, Sámi mythology and themes linked to Indigenous experience.

Field recordings from the Helgeland region form the foundation of the album. These sounds are combined with electronic production to create a wide range of pieces that move between ambient textures, spoken poetry, house, pop and drum and bass.

Although the styles vary, all tracks originate from the same source. The album reflects the natural environments of Sápmi and presents the artists’ personal interpretations of them.
