Dálveidja

Dálveidja is a collaboration between iDJa and vocalist Inna Marja Amundsen. The artists met after a concert in Bodø in 2021, where a chance conversation led to the idea of creating a submission for Sámi Grand Prix. With only four weeks until the deadline, the track was written and produced and sent in for consideration.

The title means “winter night” and the lyrics reflect themes of longing and the need for support in everyday life. Musically, the track is a fast-paced synthwave piece at 150 BPM, making it vocally demanding.

Although the song was not selected for the competition, both artists were satisfied with the result and view the track as a standalone release. The lyrics were written with guidance from iDJa’s father to ensure correct Sámi language use.
