Billistit Olmmáivuođa

Billistit Olmmáivuođa is the first collaboration between Sunna Máret Utsi and iDJa. The track was created across a long distance, with Utsi writing the lyrics from Ringerike while iDJa produced the music from Berlin.

The song centres on the shift from friendship to romance. Its themes were influenced by conversations Utsi had with a friend and elements from the series Stranger Things. The production was originally made for submission to Sámi Grand Prix, completed and sent in shortly before the deadline.

Although the track was not selected, jury feedback described it as catchy, fresh and rooted in eighties nostalgia. One juror noted that the song introduces a type of energetic “råne-style” Sámi track that had not been heard before.
